Experience
Gordon Price Diefenbach is the founding member of Diefenbach, PLLC, a boutique Wall Street law firm. He began his career in litigation at a top-100 law firm, Martin, Clearwater & Bell and established his private practice in 1999.
A Cornell University graduate, B.A. with Honors in 1983, he then obtained his J.D. from the University at Buffalo Faculty of Law & Jurisprudence in 1986. He is admitted to practice law in New York, as well as in various Federal Courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
With over 32 years of courtroom experience as a trial attorney, he has made literally thousands of court appearances in the New York courts.
In 1989, he was one of the Junior Associates under the wing of legal luminary Frank Bensel, who defended New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center against the Andy Warhol estate which had sued the hospital for the alleged negligent death of Andy Warhol at that hospital.
In 2002, on another major case, he was hired to engage in extensive legal research and appellate practice for a trial lawyer who obtained a $55 million jury verdict.
In 2004, he was hired by a trial attorney who successfully sued the City of New York in a police brutality case, resulting in a jury verdict of $50 Million.
His experience in trial and pre-trial litigation includes complex civil litigation and appeals in the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit, and to the various Appellate Divisions of the New York State Courts. Mr. Diefenbach’s knowledge of trial litigation includes complex civil litigation and appeals in both the federal and state courts. He has significant appellate practice experience as well. Before establishing Diefenbach, PLLC, he was routinely hired by other law firms for their trials. He has been associated with top New York trial lawyers handling malpractice cases.
He is a member of the Federal Bar Association, Federal Bar Council, New York State Trial Lawyers Association, New York County Lawyers Association, and Association of the Bar of the City of New York (ABCNY). In 1998 he was nominated to become a member of the ABCNY’s Committee on Central and Eastern European Affairs, and is a former Arbitrator for the New York Civil Courts, in which capacity he took the New York Judges’ Oath of Office.
