Experience

Gordon Price Diefenbach is the Founding Member of Diefenbach PLLC.  As  a trial lawyer his areas of interest and capabilities are in complex torts, large-damage personal injuries, doctor and hospital negligence, compensation for construction site injuries, class action, mass tort, pharmaceutical (bad drugs and devices) law, and matrimonial law.

Prior to Diefenbach PLLC he was an associate at Martin, Clearwater & Bell, LLP, a Top-100 law firm, where he gained extensive experience in complex tort litigation including insurance defense of medical malpractice cases, hospital liability and products liability. In 1989, he was one of the associates under the wings of legal luminary Frank Bensel, who defended New York Hospital-Cornell Medical Center against the Andy Warhol estate, which had sued the hospital for the alleged negligent death of Andy Warhol at that hospital. In 2002, on another major case, he was hired to engage in extensive legal research and appellate practice for a trial lawyer who had successfully obtained a $55 million jury verdict against Lloyd’s of London. In 2004, he was hired by a trial attorney who successfully sued the City of New York in a police brutality case, where the latter obtained a jury verdict of $ 50 Million. In 2011, he helped devise a unique child custody and parenting time for two warring parents who would not stop litigating over sole custody: parenting time for 5 of the 7 days of the week would be split 6 months to one, then the next 6 months to the other, which  was lauded by the judge as a unique resolution uncommonly seen. In early 2000 he created the matrimonial department within the firm, engaging in contested divorces, high net-worth asset distribution negotiation and litigation, and child custody disputes. His bar memberships have included through time the Federal Bar Association, the Federal Bar Council, the New York State Trial Lawyers Association, the New York County Lawyers Association, the New York City Bar. He is a former Judicial Arbitrator, New York City Civil Court, having taken the Judicial Oath of Office in that capacity at that time.
